Course Description: Learn to see our government as our Founders
originally intended it! Discover the
28 Principles of Freedom our Founding Fathers said must be understood and
perpetuated by every
people who desire peace, prosperity, and freedom. Learn how adherence to these
beliefs during the
past 200 years has brought about more progress than was made in the previous
5,000 years. The
founding of our country, through God's Providence, was truly a miracle that
changed the world!
This class will involve reading, note-taking, highlighting, discussion and
quizzes, but no writing
(other than a lot of note-taking!). Recommended for High School through Adult
(yes, parents are
welcome to sign up as well).

Course Description: This is a one-semester course for fourth- to sixth-graders
using the DVD-based
curriculum from the Institute for Cultural Communicators (formerly Communicators
for Christ).
Students who took this course in the fall are encouraged to enroll again as they
will receive enhanced
instruction that builds on what they have already learned. We will focus on the
components of a
sucessful presentation, introducing a variety of reasons for speaking. Each
class will include specific
objectives, a lesson from the DVD, discussion and activities based on the
lesson, as well as weekly
presentations from each student. The simple exercises in each class meeting will
equip your student
with the skills needed to persuade, inform, delight and entertain, and, in
short, to be world-changers.
A final Presentation at the end of the semester for family members and friends
is a highlight for our
class.

Course Description: This course is a DVD series starring none other than Dave
Ramsey himself. It is
geared specifically toward high school students. The course covers the following
topics: Savings,
Investment Options, Wealth Building and College Savings, Dangers of Debt,
Consumer Awareness,
Credit Bureaus and Collection Practices, Budgeting 101, Bargain Shopping,
Relating with Money,
Career Choices and Taxes, Ins and Outs of Insurance, and Real Estate and
Mortgages. Each week
will consist of watching Dave’s instruction via DVD, as well as participating in
classroom activities
and discussions. Through this course, Dave will be sure to have your student
well on their way to
financial peace.

purchasing a car (researching the vehicle, car insurance, and car loan vs.

home, securing a part-time job, understanding taxes and insurance, planning a
party and proper
etiquette. New students are welcome to join in the fun and learning.

Course Description: Experienced and inexperienced are welcome. Will give
instruction and
information to new students, and expanded learning opportunities to returning
students. We will be
on campus for some of our meetings, but I have several off-campus events planned
such as the
beach and FT botanical gardens. All but one are local. A family trip to Bok
Tower is our big
outing. This place is amazing! We will once again try to round up old 35 mm
cameras and have at
least one film class. Carpooling and rides are available for all meetings. The
only equipment
needed is a digital camera. High School credit is available. Questions? Call me

Bronze Bow Book Study

Course Description: Students will learn basic chords and strumming patterns, and
will learn a group
song and one song of their choice to be performed at the end of the semester.

supply their own equipment, including guitar and tuner, and practice for one
hour outside of class for
a full grade. Final grades will be based on attendance, cooperation, practice
time, and final
performance.

Course Description: Students will learn basic vocabulary and common Spanish
phrases as well as how
to form sentences. A knowledge of the basic parts of speech is recommended. This
class requires the
purchase of a textbook (TBD) and involves daily exercises, weekly quizzes, and

Apologia’s Exploring Creation through General Science, 2nd Edition
Course Description: Students will need Apologia's Exploring Creation through
General Science, 2nd
Edition for this course. Parents will need to buy the test pack only if they
plan to administer tests.
The second half of the book covers areas of biology, including genetics, the
cell, classification, and
the human body. However, I plan to make time to cover basic chemistry--atomic
and molecular
structure, the Periodic Table, chemical reactions and equations. Since that
material is not covered in
the book, I will use handouts and class notes to teach the material. I plan to
continue spending class
time on experiments and demonstrations along with discussion of the key concepts
and ideas we are
covering. Module study guides and tests are to be done at home, but I will help
with grading for any
parent who asks. I will occasionally ask for assignments or reports to be turned
in for evaluation and
grading.
Music Theory & Composition

Course Description: Students will learn chord theory and basic music theory,
including note values,
time signatures, and writing notes on a staff. Previous musical education is
required (knowledge of
an instrument, private lessons, choir, etc.) Students will learn how to compose
their own music and
how to write in their desired musical style/genre. This class will also briefly
address lyric writing.
Grades will be based on quizzes and projects.
